SCDIRB copy 39088000932442 has handwritten inscription in ink on p. [2] of the cover: Ex dono auctoris
SCDIRB copy is apparently one of twelve copies of the author's paper as it originally appeared in the transactions of the Bologna Academy; original v. and p. numbers occur on each plate. According to the Heralds of Science, this inscribed copy was sent to Volta
SCDIRB copy's title leaf (A1) is a cancel. According to the Fulton & Stanton bibliography of Galvani in the M.G. Foley English translation of the commentary, this copy is the reprint, 2nd issue, 1791 edition (#3)
SCDIRB copy has label on the custom-made portfolio: "Caution! This book contains ferrous granules in the gutters between pages. These granules are most likely the by-products of early electrical experiments. Please be careful not to brush away this historical evidence."
SCDIRB copy was formerly owned by the Burndy Library (Bern Dibner). The original Burndy bookplate (possibly on a box formerly used to house the volume?), is wanting
SCDIRB copy has a contemporary blue thin paperboard binding; housed in an archival paperboard portfolio
